The Little Chef
Yesterday, I decided to make beef ghoulash. It's a simple one-dish Hungarian receipe of beef stew with vegetables.
Ash wanted to help so I roped him in to wash the vegetables. I told him to pick 4 carrots and celery from the fridge which he promptly went to do so. After that, i put the vegetables in a bowl for him to wash.
I wish I could tell you this is a totally supervision-free activity. But no.
My little chef almost succeeded in washing the carrots in hand soap if I had not turned my head in time to see why the water was running for so long. He thought it was the only way to remove the dirt from them.
I'm glad, however, to announce that there were no casualties with bubbles frothing from their mouths.
While letting the beef simmer in the stew, Asher went on to make a pizza.
Voila! His finished work before it went into the oven toaster.
Ingredients: Ready-made pizza dough, Prego's Mushroom Pasta Sauce, Chicken Franks and Mozzarella Cheese.
I won't recommend eating this too often though. Sausages tend to be sodium-chloride loaded.

Our Lego A Day
Lego: the game made for the sanity of stay-home mums.
When I need at least a half hour of quiet, non-squabbling time, I bring out the Lego bucket. And the kids will empty the bucket and piece the blocks into whatever they want.
And when I take photos of their creations, they get really excited and thrilled to see them on the computer.
Asher's favourite - rocket cars

Thanksgiving & Prayer Journals
Okie. I know I'm a little late. Actually, quite late. I started making these before Christmas, then got busy moving house and only got round to finish the last of these journals 2 weeks ago. It's meant to record a year of things to be thankful for, and prayers made and answered.

Children's Wall Deco
The wall deco I did for the kids' room was selected as the layout of the week by Made With Love! Thanks, MWL, for this privilege! Here's the deco I did, with more details at Flickr.
Just bought another stack of cardboard sheets to add to it. It's getting kinda addictive :)

Welcome to the First Happy Idea!
Welcome to my new blog!
We all need little things to keep our spirits up so here is where I share ideas that help me do just that. Each week, I'll try to put up a few projects/activities I've done. Hope it gives you some inspiration too! And if you'd like to customise any ideas here as gifts, please feel free to email me :)
So here's the first project! A simple box to keep trinkets or a mini photo album.
