Spotted at Jillibean Soup

Two of my layouts are featured at Jillibean Soup's blog!

Kraft cardstock and patterned papers are one of my biggest faves and I love working with the ones from Jillibean. Add the yummy new Lentil Soup Collection and I can't stop creating with them!

Thanks Kimber for the honour!

A Few Layouts

I've just started my stint with Creative Pandemonium, an online challenge blog. Every two weeks, Janelle will give us a few elements to be included in our layouts and the rest is up to our imagination. Here are what I've done so far.

Cool Dear

A gift for a 5-year-old boy. I altered an Ikea pine frame by painting it with MM Paints (Chocolate & Wheat). The layout is done using Sassafras papers + paper whimsies, Hambly transparencies, bug stickers from Reminisce and a heart-shaped bling from a local craft store. And of course, it's sprinkled with Tattered Angels' Glimmer Mist. These mists do wonders to a plain cardstock background. Just a few spritz and it makes the layout look so different!

Jillibean Cards

I don't make cards often but when I do, it's usually with Jillibean Soup papers. I love the look of kraft paper - natural and earthy. Add the spurts of colour that are the trademark of JS kraft patterned papers, it's the perfect combi for me!

Did I mention they have yummy names too? :)

Supplies:
Jillibean Soup - Split Pea (Pinch of Sugar), Cream of Mushroom (Chopped Parsley)
Making Memories - Rub-on alphas
Others - Kraft cardstock and red button

Supplies:
Jillibean Soup - Cold Raspberry (Fresh Rasberries), Cream of Mushroom (Chopped Parsley)
Prima - Flowers
Foof-fa-la - Buttons
Ranger - Glitter Stickles
7Gypsies - Word Stickers

Baby First Year Gift Album

Made this for a girlfriend who's about to deliver her first baby. These Collage Press papers were sitting among my paper stash for a while and I found them to be the perfect ones for this gift, since my friend is not the kind who likes girly stuff to be "peaches and cream" :)

Seven Gals, Four Weddings

Was inspired by American Crafts Blue Skies Week Challenge to create this layout. It was taken seven years ago during one of my friends' weddings. Six of us had undergone keyboard training under CY (the lady on the left). We called ourselves the "ErMei" girls, after a legendary Chinese martial arts sect that comprised only of women. Four of us got married in 2002 and we were all helping in each other's weddings.

American Crafts Supplies Used:

Pps: Teen "Fire Drill" (#34650), Teen "Tardy Slip" (#34646), Amplified "Rock 'N' Roll" (#34489) Remarks Journaling Stickers, Flair Adhesive Badges (Sew Cool), Thickers (LAX Glitter Letters & Jewelry Box Chipboard Letters), Remarks Letter Stickers (JFK Neutral1), MiniMarks (Market Accents), Black Slick Writer Others: Bazzil Basics Kraft Cardstock, Zig Pen

Seeing Stars

Made these star tags for the kids to hang on their bedroom door (still trying to find hooks!). The kids had fun cranking the handle of the Sizzix Big Shot to cut out the star shapes. They also sifted through the chipboard alphas to find the letters to their names. Ash wanted a red guitar so he got it, although he was a little upset that it was hidden.

These are available as custom gifts so email me if you would like to purchase one!

Designing for Creative Pandemonium

Thought I was dreaming when I saw the email from Janelle, especially when yesterday was a packed and tiring day with the kids.
But yes, there it was, I made it to the Creative Pandemonium Design Team! Looking forward to their weekly challenges and being inspired by the other DT girls. Drop by for their weekly challenges!

Still Playing

Played Monopoly with my gal this morning. I don't understand how it works, but she always ends up with more money in the end. On another note, it's also a good game to teach them numbers, although at her age at 2 years and 7 months, she goes by the colours to figure out how much to pay more than actually recognising the numbers. She also knows that the picture of the old man with a coloured bar means "phwee ticket boof" (free ticket booth).

The yellow houses are mine while the green ones are hers (9:7).

The pile of notes in the first row are hers, the ones in the second row are mine. Sigh.

We Have All Been Playing

While the kids have been playing, I've been playing with the effects in Photoshop Elements. I like how some of the photos turned out.

Today Is The Day

Ash was home today with a low-grade fever. Anyway, I guessed he wasn't that sick as he was still tearing about house. So I took out the camera and snapped away at the siblings playing and making funny faces. Here's the two-page layout: my first!
